In August, the children made a small boat out of straws and sponges. They decorated the sail with watercolors. We then took them out to pool play and played with them in the pool.

In July for ‘Understanding the World’ we explored light, dark and things found in space.  We first turned off the lights and looked at twinkly lights and flashlights under a parachute. Then we read a book about a rocket ship, only lit by flashlight. They loved being in the dark!

As part of our pre-writing classes, we gave the children a letter which they had to outline with playdough. Rolling the playdough was great for their fine motor skills and learning about the alphabet.
