The Nursery students are growing, learning to try new things and are taking on new challenges every day. Every week we have two writing lessons, where we provide activities for the students to improve their hand strength, grip form and to improve their overall fine motor skills. During a recent writing class we made necklaces from wooden blocks with wholes through them and a string.
The students began this activity a little unsure, but with practice they gained more confidence and greater control. The students tried using different shaped blocks such as circle, squares and triangles of different sizes, which required them to adapt their grip on the blocks and pay close attention to where the whole was to put the string through.
The finished products were so amazing to see and all the students couldn’t wait to show off their necklaces to all their friends. Great Job Nursery!
