“The Tortoise and the Hare”
This month we have been immersing ourselves in the magical world of fairy-tales and myths, we’ve been covering classic tales like Snow White, along with Greek myths, Japanese legends, and also some of Aesop’s famous fables.
These stories all started out as oral tradition so we have been using as few pictures as possible to let everyone’s imagination paint their own pictures to go with the tales, this has lead to lots of variation in the artwork being produced as their is nothing to copy from only each child’s interpretation of the words.
After reading one of the most well-known of Aesop’s fables, ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’, we worked on some fine motor skills by making our own puppets of the tortoise and the hare and put on puppet shows for our friends, it was so great to see everyone give their take on the story and the meaning behind it. Great job Dolphins!
