As life in the city is busy everyday, it is a great opportunity for the children to experience nature around them when there is a chance. A small garden patch called the Rainbow garden is in front of our school and Bees children planted some tulips there the other day.
We started by looking at some of the flowers the KB classes already planted in the garden. We learned what part is the stem, the leaf and the flower. Then we made small holes in the soil and put in a tulip bulb pointy side up.
We covered the hole gently and watered the area. Feeling the texture of the soil, using a watering can and smelling the fresh garden was a fun activity for us. When new spring comes, colorful tulips will greet us. Until then, we will visit the garden a few times and take care of our tulips.
